• Madera Canyon had some accessible trails.
• Lunch.
• Herman in front of Kubo's, up the road from our own digs, Santa Rita Lodge, where we stayed comfortably for three nights.
• The Paton yard in Patagonia, AZ.
• Beatty's hummingbird gallery in Miller Canyon. We really enjoyed our three-night stay at Beatty's.
• We attended the hummingbird banding event at San Pedro House.
• "You've got a butterfly on your head."
• Herman at willow tank near Stateline Road near Rodeo, NM.
• Trogan habitat.
• Herman enjoying the Walker House feeders in Paradise, AZ, though we stayed at the Portal Peak Lodge (fine!) for our two nights in the neighborhood.
• Herman used his window scope in Wilcox.
• Enroute home to Massachusetts.

• A family whose kids were really into reptiles said the Chiricahua Desert Museum between Portal and Rodeo was worth visiting, but we only snapped the sign in passing. This museum specializes in reptiles. It's smaller and newer than the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum just west of Tucson, where we took a guided birdwalk our first morning in AZ. The Chihuahuan Desert is higher than the Sonoran Desert.
• The watchman at the Rodeo town dump had this notice tacked to his trailer.
• Non-verbal_sign. Our rental car's "check tires" warnng light went on often. Every garage we stopped at re-balanced our tire pressure free gratis and for nothing.
• Paradise, AZ is an ex-boom town, now site of the Walker House B & B whose proprieters graciously allow birders who are not guests to watch their feeders.
• The Spencer Outfit.
