Kahn, P. (1995). Presentation at As We May Think -- A Celebration of Vannevar Bush's 1945 Vision,
An Examination of What Has Been Accomplished, and What Remains to Be Done [Video].
(Kahn, 1995)
Memex Demo [Transcription of Video]
Kahn: The Memex demonstration allows the user to listen to recreation of the "Turkish Bow Scenario" and explore the Memex described in Bush's article. Jim Nyce, who worked on the book with Kahn, made the very succinct point that ... "The Memex, while it was never built, was foremost speculative and immaginative engineering which has clearly inspired many of us." The animation was created largely by Ian Adelman, a student at the time at Rhode Island School of Design, and then employed at Microsoft Corporation out in Redmond.
