Lyman Copeland Draper compiled frontier information related to early pioneers of an area encompassing the western Carolinas and Virginia, parts of Georgia and Alabama, the entire Ohio River valley, and parts of the Mississippi River valley within the timeframe of about 1755 through 1815, but died before publishing this massive effort that lasted 50 years. This collection reproduces his correspondence, research notes, and much more about the people living in this area.
