Copying fees will vary by facility and type of original used, and may include additional service charges assessed by the facility. In cases of rare or fragile materials, transcription or digital photography (if allowed) may be the only alternate options. Genealogical tracing and brick-wall projects are also undertaken. POLICIES In consideration of copyright laws and other clients, copying requests for an entire book will not be undertaken. A retainer/advance of 1 to 4 hours is required to accept a project. Depending on the project, the retainer may be waived. Flat rates available for projects of particular scope. A specific project time limit or deadline set by the client is recommended and preferred. A written report will be forwarded at the end of the project time limit. The client and the researcher are responsible for maintaining reasonable communications concerning the project undertaken. A detailed invoice will acknowledge advanced funds and list, with dates, the work completed for a project. Invoices will be provided at an agreed-upon interval or at the end of a project, and are payable upon receipt unless noted otherwise. Late charges will be assessed for invoices unpaid more than 30 days from date of issue. In addition to photocopy costs and the hourly rate incurred for information and/or records retrieval, other related charges can include but are not limited to facility access fee, report/analysis fee and travel expenses.
