April
April 2: just me and the grebes
April 16: bank swallows, gannets, and a host of visitors
April 20: ever wondered why they call them piping plovers?
April 30: for the birds

May 21: sun and sand
June
June 3: The beach is building (more sand coming back in) and the plover count is increasing. Reported as of 5/28: 29 adults (13 pairs, 3 singles) and 8 nests on the refuge, plus 2 pair (and 2 nests) on Sandy Point. (sorry no diary entry for today - just this brief status).
June 22: fog and dogs

July
July 1: the boundary has moved
July 2: another nice day
July 13: greenheads and naked guy
July 20: feeding the greenheads
July 22: the plover warden diaries and then some
July 30: too easy
August

August 6: stingray
August 20: The beach reopens today. There were still a couple of adults and three chicks hanging around as of the last official count I saw. Presumably they will be gone soon too.
