June
June 3: The beach is building (more sand coming back
in) and the plover count is increasing. Reported as of 5/28:
29 adults (13 pairs, 3 singles) and 8 nests on the refuge,
plus 2 pair (and 2 nests) on Sandy Point. (sorry no diary
entry for today - just this brief status).
June 22:

August 20: The beach reopens today. There were still a
couple of adults and three chicks hanging around as of the
last official count I saw. Presumably they will be gone soon
too.
