Weeks Twenty Four to Thirty Seven

Weeks Twenty Four to Thirty Seven

We, finally, finished the wing skinning

Our daughter, Kate, was available over the Christmas break. And, she, willingly, offered to help us bond the top wing skins.

The descriptions in this section will be pretty skimpy. But, we think you'll get a feel for the process.

Stay tuned for our next installment. We're putting together a hoisting system that will raise the wing up to our ceiling so that we'll have more room to work on the rest of the kit.

A, final, view of the right wing before the top skin is glued and riveted.

In this view, you see the center section of the wing has been completed.

The skins to the right have a cleco in every fourth hole, and rivets waiting to be pulled in all of the others.

Kate was a terrific assistant in placing all of the rivets in the holes. All I had to do was move along and pull them.
