Commentator's note

Eliot means compare Part III, line 293 (and 294) :

293)   Highbury bore me. Richmond and Kew
294)   Undid me. By Richmond I raised my knees

to Dante's Purgatorio, canto V, line 133:

Siena mi fé, disfecemi Maremma

This line can be translated as:

Born in Sienna, died in Maremma

The line is spoken by Tolomei of Sienna to Dante when they meet in Purgatory. It refers to her birth in Sienna and her murder in Maremma by her husband.
