Replying to LO10567 --

When there are more people than work, three types of future strategies of
organizational learning may be seen as emerging: (1) Inventing new lines
of business (2)shifting employees to other cross-unit companies and (3)
inventing cost reductions to save market share. The whole organization as
a *doer* is not achieved when major parts of the workforce are laid off or
fired. Each part of the business cycle leaves behind cognitive profits of
struggling in order to facilitate more work with fewer people---the
struggle becomes to invent new forms of business and work when there is
too little work for the number of people available.
