There is more in information than mere data.

When they did not have computers technicians and engineers uses abacus.
One engineer used all his knowledge (maths=8A) to find solutions to a
problem a lot of people met in business. Then he built an abacus to make
this solution available to those who did not share his knowledge. Software
does today the same.
