Observations about Steve Winstead's comments in his reply to LO1318
Steve uses the phrase "thoughtfully convince" when speaking about
effective action management. This phrase has a ring of authenticity to
it, although it is very high up on the ladder of abstraction.
Interestingly, Steve's words connect his thread back to other explicit
observations concerning story telling efficacy. I wish to suggest that
the complex task of convincing (from Latin vincere, to conquer) is best
accomplished with vital assistance from the story/analog/case study. Such
tools as these are powerful media. It is this thread which captured my
imagination some weeks ago when I entered the the learning organization
group.
