laundry dayIt seems like everybody is doing laundry today. The weather has let up so we can actually hang things out to dry. Joe must've figured out what to offer the gods. Carol, Minako, and I walked to the post office to mail some postcards. Dot left early this morning. There were two Japanese blue jays outside our cabin this morning, the first I've seen. Asparagus at breakfast! Watching the onion trucks. Sitting here jotting down thoughts when the doorbell rings. It's the gas man come to fill the tank for the stove. I wonder if Istvan is back yet. The gas man just left. It's clouding over and my jeans are not dry yet, maybe I'd better bring them in and attempt to dry them in here. When I walked into town, I called Nancy from the payphone next to the A-Coop store. I gave her a play by play description of the onion trucks rumbling through. She told me that Haruki Murakami, who wrote A Wild Sheep Chase, has just come out with a new 600 page novel. That should be fun to read when I get back. |
