a lesbian love story about breast cancer

Saw the Yvonne Rainer movie Murder and murder at the Brattle Theater in Harvard Square.

I really liked this movie. It made me think about breast cancer, about the use and misuse of statistics...Is it true lesbians are chronic late returners of library books? Surprisingly good movie, very weird structure though. If you're expecting a linear narrative this ain't got one.

too many CDs

Much CD shopping at HMV. Spent too much on Siberian music. I now have almost the entire 5 disc set of Musique du Monde, Siberie :

  • Kamchatka: Tambours de Danse de l'Extreme-Orient Siberien
  • Chants Chamaniques et Narratifs de l'Arctique Siberien
  • Chants Chamaniques et Quotidiens du Bassin Amour
  • Virtuosos from the Mongol Plateau
  • vocal & instrumental music of Mongolia
  • Uzlyau
  • The Sweet Sunny North : Henry Kaiser and David Lindley in Norway

One of these CDs is not like the other ones, one of these CDs doesn't' belong... this aunt is eclectic....

chai

Picked up Nancy at South Station. Drank chai at The Someday Cafe in Davis Square, home of Johnny D's Restaurant & Music Club. Oddly there is also a Virtual Someday Cafe.

dementia and laundry

Dementia is setting in. I left the house in the morning to do laundry. Locked the condo, walked to the car. Reached in pocket. No car key. Condo keys. Kevin's house keys. No car key.

Back into the condo and up the stairs to find the car key on my dresser. Back to the car.

No laundry. Back into the condo and up the stairs to get the laundry.

To the laundry. Reach into other pocket. No wallet. Back home to get wallet. No wonder I needed the above mentioned chai before I could deal with lesbian love story about breast cancer.

There was another Yvonne Rainer flick on after MURDER & murder but both of us were too tired to stay for a 9:40 show.

meanwhile back at the ranch

Had a message from Donald when I got home. He wanted Bobby's e-mail address (for the umpteenth time) so La Madre could send Bobby e-mail from his house. La Madre does not like the news from Bosnia. She worries. We all worry. After I call Donald with the address, I send e-mail to Bobby.
