a shoe sale???????

Sumatra

What a day to crave a nice dark Sumatra coffee. It's beastly hot. Downtown Andover is blocked off for some kind of event. A huge banner proclaims Daher's is having a shoe sale. Surely the entire downtown wouldn't be needed for a a shoe sale.

risking a ticket

There's no place to park. I've gotta have Sumatra. It's gotta be from the Butler's Pantry. But there's no place to park. No place to park. I drive around in circles looking for a way out or a parking spot. Finally I park illegally behind the old town hall under the shoe sale banner and right in front of the traffic patrol vehicle. If I'm gonna risk a ticket, I might as well be bold about it.

I tell this all to the lady at Butler's Pantry as I pour the last of the Sumatra and look at my watch. Gotta hit the road to Groton.

jellybean's new scratching post

hi, where's the scratching post?

Hey, all I am is a bringer of scratching posts. It's not Aunt Janet she's glad to see, it's the scratching post. What can I say? At least I came through with the scratching post in a lovely light blue - Jellybean's favorite color. I never knew cats had favorite colors. I'm not aware of Wilbur's favorite color.

cat toy

I brought Jellybean a cat toy too. Also blue. One of those captive ball in a track things. He loves it.

red eye reduction

Spent a lot of time photographing Jellybean. With and without red eye reduction.

the bubble show

catching bubbles

Bubbles big and small. Blow 'em, run after 'em, catch and pop 'em. Fun for nieces, aunts, Jellybean and even Bertha.

tiny bubbles

tiny tiny tiny really tiny the bubble wand is so tiny I can hardly hold it - the bubbles are so tiny there must be a Lawrence Welk Show song about them

all the world loves music

all the world loves music, music...

And if you can get this tune out of your head, you're a stronger person than I am.

The massed voices of all the third grade classes lifted as one in song with a viral tune... chilling.

cuckoo

What is it about Cuckoo? About a zillion kids at the piano recital chose it as their recital piece. The third grade sang it as part of their choral concert. Is this the third grade anthem? Are there an unusual number of cuckoos in Groton?

didja have fun?

no

We blew bubbles for hours. We watched everything there was to watch on PBS. We played with and photographed Jellybean endlessly. We read stories (The Baseball Ballerina and Henry and Mudge) But did we have fun? Nope.

What exactly is a 6 year old's idea of fun?
