plover warden off duty - I woke up with a sore throat
this morning after not very much sleep owing to a huge
thunderstorm that woke me last night. I called headquarters
and said I wasn't coming it. It's cold and foggy up there
anyway so there won't be many people on the beach.
What is with the Southern Baptist Convention?
There are way bigger threats to the moral fabric of American
life than Disney! Why don't they worry about racism, hunger,
street violence, illiteracy, lack of health care...?
I want to rush to Disney World and spend lots of money
just to spite their stupid boycott. Maybe I'll stop by the
Disney store in the mall and buy some kitsch just to show my
solidarity.
If all the lesbians in the world suddenly turned purple
one day, the Southern Baptists would be astonished at our
contribution to making their narrow minded little nuclear
families work. And what is it with their focus on nuclear
families? Do they really want to isolate family units away
from outside supports and put that kind of stress on the
nuclear family to be self sufficient?
So how exactly am I, Ellen DeGeneres, or Mickey Mouse a
threat to their little families?
