It was cold at the cove. There were lots of canvasbacks. Also that snow goose in with the flock of Canada geese was still there. Tons of hoodies must mean inland fresh water frozen. Other ducks too far away to identify without scope, which I did not bring since it would guarantee that Nancy would get beeped. She got beeped anyway, but we had already pretty much listed what we could see with binoculars. The page turned out not to be a life and death emergency so after she dealt with it, we went to the Brown bookstore. I found The Book of Indian Birds and The Biology of Rocky Shores on the bargain table and couldn't pass them up. We played with them over pumpkin spice chai and sandwiches at Tealuxe. |
