Week 19 Make Final Covers and Meet Tim Sullivan

Ultra-violet light does more damage to fabric covered airplanes that anything else.

So, Joanne and I went all out making a set of complete covers using inexpensive Budge auto covers for the material.

These covers are ridiculously inexpensive. A full-size car cover (19 feet) is only about $20.

The covers are a bit of a hassle to take on and off every time. But, the benefits of keeping the sun off the plane are worth it.

Meeting Tim Sullivan for the first time.

Tim's a very interesting and engaging guy. He's an airline Captain for Continental Airlines and flies Boeing 737 and 757 airplanes for a living.

You'd never know it just chatting with the guy, though. He's the most unassuming person I've ever met.

Tim came down and acted as a check pilot and part of our emergency crew for my first solo.

Later on, I checked Tim out in the FlightStar and he's the only person, other than myself, to solo our plane.

Over the winter of 2001/2002, Tim built a Rotax 582 powered Trike for himself.
