The day finally came when it was time to
move the plane to the airport - June 8, 2001.
Naturally, it was a hazy, hot and humid
day without even a zephyr of a breeze.
But, we got it done.
We selected a 24 foot Ryder box truck. We detached the wings
and made two trips from our home to the airport.
Here we are at Mansfield Airport (1B9) after the first trip.
Here's the scene late in the afternoon.
As you can see, the right wing is mounted again. Although, the
FlightStar wings are foldable, we don't take advantage of that.
We just bolted them on, and they've remained that way ever
since.
The completed plane in its new home.
Here I am at the end of a very long, very hot day.
I'm checking out our Sporty's handheld radio. More on this
later.
