6.3 Technical Contexts of Advanced Courseware Projects

Past educational computing efforts often existed in technical contexts which emphasized fragmented functions, separation between the role of the learner and the role of the author, and emphasis on the use of one platform over another.
 
In the future, educational computing endeavors should try to overcome the shackles of these frames of thought about limitations introduced in early years of educational computing, but which are no longer necessary.
