I wonder if size is a factor in all of this ???

I am often disappointed if the things I have said don't get a response ..
especially if it is something I am quite excited about

I am also conscious that we are large and growing and there are times when
I can only just hang in and stay connected by reading ... like if I tried
to join in I would just not cope...

There is an interesting theory about the growth of Churches (which I
cannot remember very well) - in terms of size and how it affects things -
too small and people cannot come in and be anonymous to begin with and
then contribute as they build relationships and open up and too large and
the small groups which form etc prevent people from ever building the
necessary relationships.... perhaps this sort of things applies in this
new medium ????

I save all of the intros - I used to be able to respond to them (sort of a
welcome because I remembered the thrill when people from all over the
world responded to my first couple of postings....) I can't remember when
I last did.....

If I go back to the party metaphor which I have used before - this party
is so big, there are so many interesting conversations ... might we be
forgetting the welcome and relationship building???

I can see how Clyde is mentally modelling what is happening as the
development of an 'inner circle' because I am sure that is how it
looks .... I am equally confident that it is not anyones intention
to create one..... let alone police things ..... for me it is about
how I cope with the sheer volume of all of this - by using my own
self-interest to determine what I respond to and join in with ...
perhaps I should be paying more attention to when my responding
might help create community?? - but then would we get
bigger!!!!Arghhhhhhhhhh !!!
