Replying to LO11703 --

Joe Katzman asks " How does one attract and retain such people (knowledge
workers)?"

In related musings, I have come to beleive that people want "meaning" in
their work life. They want to feel they make a difference as they do
something worhtwhile. People work very hard (regardless of rules about
hours and so forth) on things that are important to them.

I believe we can best retain workers by addressing personal mastery
related issues as we develop shared visions.

Joe-- What's you "instinctive" answer to this question?
