Michael McMaster says that hierarchies that even compete can be good for
an organization, if I hear him correctly. My take on that Michael is that
leads to turf wars, suboptimization, and a whole host of current
Dilbert-like org. characteristics.
The question for me is how to run a large org. efficiently and effectively
without hierarchy? Perhaps an organization can only get so large, and
when an org. feels the need for hierarchy it is time to start a new
organization? Anyone share this view or care to challenge it?
