I agree with Linda in that Western Civilizations did not leran anything
from all the people who were already here when they came. This is one of
the problems that prejudging has. The "civilized" europeans considered
that these inhabitants in the "new" (to them) continent were a bunch of
uncivilized people who had nothing to teach others. The native Americans,
the Aztecs, the Mayas, the Incas, etc. had very interesting societies.
But we have learned about them now by reconstructing what the first
europeans destroyed as something without any value at all. There some
additional reasons for the destruction, but they are not important at this
point. I hope that we have learned a great lesson from all of this!
