Replying to LO11078 --

In LO11078 Deirdre O'Reilly asked " Can a LO work in a unionized
environment?"

In reply, I would like to use the old Berlin Wall as ametaphor to
represent the barriers to learning that many organizations and their
unions jointly erect.

With the odd exception, the Berlin Wall was virtually unbreachable for
many ,many years. Suddenly it came down.

Why? Because someone changed their thinking.

Moral: It is not necessary ( nor possible) to solve the problems created
by traditional union vs. management relations. When leaders learn to think
differently ( a new theory ) and build a LO, the walls do not only come
down. They disappear.
