The other element was suggested by Marvin Berman as FAITH. Not trust, not
self-efficacy--which both have tremendous value in overcoming fear as
Michael Schwartz attests to--but faith as in "belief that is not based on
proof." And of course, just having faith isn't enough, is it? We need
some shared sense of what to believe in. what could that be?
