Sherry, I think you touched a very interesting point, the relation between
information and safety. The function of knowledge is to guide our
interaction with our environment. When our knowledge doesn't match the
requirements of a foreseen change, we feel unsafe!

Change is an opportunity to learn, but when we feel uncapable to learn, it
means loss, danger, fear. Giving information an providing support for
learning is something management can do to reduce fear and improve
learning performance!
