Michael:
Good on the publishing of "Foresight." And you had said: "...Axelrod's
happy phrase 'the shadow of the future' which relates strategy and
foresight to structural consideration of past and present."
The word "shadows" kicked in the memory of a few quotes I've had in file
that I thought might be of interest to the group, for I, too, like the
shadow metaphor. Thus:
"When your looking at the Sun, it's hard to see the shadows."
Helen Keller
"The hopeful man sees success where others see failure;
sunshine where others see shadows and storm."
Orison Swett Marden
and one of my favorites when I discuss implementation of something new and
we want to discuss potential issues and opportunities:
Between the idea
And the reality,
Between the motion
And the act
Falls the Shadow.
TS Eliot
For the Fun of It!
