I agree with your point, Dick. In fact, my father achieved such mastery
as a tailor and did not achieve mastery in any sphere beyond his
immediate world. I would not trade him for anyone in Who's Who.
In fairness to Gary Scherling, his post was in a thread about Wealth so
mastery in that context, when combined with values of honesty and ethics,
might lead to a capitalist measure such as Who's Who (as distinct from
other wealth creation tactics such as smuggling, drugs, etc.).
We need to expand our tolerance when we are dealing in such a narrow
medium as the typed eMail so as not to stifle the exchange of thinking and
not become arbitrarily judgemental, even if we did not intend it so! OTOH,
an apology for "flying off the handle" before first "seeking to
understand" is probably not likely in any Western culture....Keith
