Replying to LO8559 --

In response to Keith Cowan's case of the CEO prospect to declare LO or not
to declare LO.

I believe our current threads on values and integrity answer this case
very well.

The prospective CEO is in the position of the salesman who must deceive
the customer to get them to see the value of his product(this scenario
seemed to attract universal condemnation on this list).

Whether you follow the Golden or Platinum Rule, the prospective CEO has
his answer by asking himself, "If I become CEO, do I want my future
department heads to tell me they are committed to LO, so that they can get
the position and then reveal to me _THEIR_ incredibly enlightened views?"

The prospective CEO could learn how much people hate deceit, by looking at
most of the presidential campaigns and resulting terms or of the several
military disasters of the last 50 years(or communist governments).

Beware of any idea that is too good to share with the unwashed before you
can take control.
