In re your interesting post...

Subscribers may recall a young man named Buckminster Fuller (Bucky) who
presented the world his interpretation of the "Life Preserver Theory",
that being mankind's seemingly inevitable fascination with heading for the
abyss, going down for the third time etc, etc,...only to have technology
provide a Life Preserver as a means of rescue, temporarily at least.

The Club of Rome with LIMITS TO GROWTH, Amory Lovins interpretation of The
Tragedy of the Commons, et al provide some background, as does Fuller, on
what mankind is capable of or inclined toward. The beauty of this group
IMHO is in its ability to offer reasoned, and reasonable, alternatives to
conflict and confrontation in organizations. What it can't offer however,
is prima facie knowledge and the acquiesance of the members of any
particular organization as a starting point. So, once again, there is hope
and a great deal of work to do. Sounds good to me.
