Thanks to Rol for bringing together the values threads in this way.

Rol mentions our view of the earth:

>It's a small, fragile, blue and white
>globe now, and before it was a pretty limitless, flat expanse for us to
>exploit

This gets to the heart of where we are. Our present use of the earth
seems to include facets of two of the systems archetypes: the Tragedy of
the Commons and Success to the Successful. It is almost as if the
limiting point of Success to the Sucessful is the Tragedy of the Commons
(I don't know where Limits to Growth comes in - this is pretty new stuff
to me).

In terms of the actions of organisations in utilising the earth's
resources, success will go to the successful until the Tragedy of the
Commons kicks in. This brings me back to a core evolutionary value for a
species - sustainability.

Does this make sense?, and if so how do we organise for sustainability?
