As an update to the above, 25% of the change agents on LO are active,
much higher than average (as expected) but 75% are lurkers! This really
reinforces the point that MOST people adopt a "wait-and-see"
attitude before sticking their necks out! ...Keith

Keith, you are making assumptions about why people don't post. For myself,
I barely have time to read all the posts, and I have begun to compose
replies many times but just don't have time. I am in graduate school,
job-hunting, maintaining my own busy Web site, on 5 other email lists, and
10 other things. I thought when I lost my job I'd have more time, but as we
all know, looking for a job takes just as much time as being in one. In
fact, I wonder how the frequent posters on this list find the time to
contribute so much!

Your judgment about the content of people's posts comes across a mite
arrogant and presumptious. Do you have examples of "making a post which is
so far removed from doing something in their respective businesses to be
laughable"? Why should posts be judged on how relevent they are to anyone's
particular business, and what makes you a good judge of what's relevent to
other people's business anyway?

I also notice that for several weeks certain participants will be heavily
represented and then they fade away and another group comes to the fore. We
all have our rhythms of participation. If all the lurkers all posted all
the time no one would have the time to read all of it. (Which is pretty
much the case now.)

I get a lot out of this list just by reading it, and I don't have to prove
what a "change-agent" I am by posting. Maybe the REAL change-agents are too
busy to post, ever think of that?
