I've tried to tell many stories that may be of interest to people here,
including the evolution of organization development (and its ties to
"shared vision"), the evolution "systems thinking" (via Jay Forrester,
Industrial Dynamics, and "Limits to Growth"), the sociotechnical movement
(with its links to the quality movement), Robert Blake's Grid System (with
many intriguing counterpoints to the history of the learning organization
movement) and scenario planning.
Mostly I'm interested in the way that people with "ideas that contradict
the conventional wisdom" have found a voice, albeit an uncertain and
sometimes shaky one, in the large mainstream institutions of our time.
