Okay, I admit. This discussion made me turn to my Websters and look up
the term. What I found was, among other things, SHAPING.

I tend to use the word as a verb. Modeling for me means to shape a concept or
idea into a physical form. A graphic representation. But, and here is
where I contradict myself, I also use modeling to mean placing accepted rules
and known practices around an idea or concept so that relationships can be
explored.
