Hi Andy! No, I am not tenured and will never be here at Barry. There is
not really a tenure system here. After three one-year contracts, one gets
a three-year contract, and from there on there are five-year contracts! I
am not in the Tenure Paradigm, and I don't believe in it too much either!
I have seen tenured Ph.D.'s who would not speak up because they feared the
Dean or retaliation from "the system." This sounds terrible, but I
believe it is one of the major reasons why most universities, at least in
the U.S., do not appear to be learning institutions.
