I may have responded in part with some thoughts about business and
education, but I seem to have misplaced my note. So here goes again.

The CEO Business/Educators Group in my region meets monthly to discuss
ways of linking one group with the other.

Our vision is this:

A prosperous, vibrant community of individuals with highly skilled and
successful members supported by partnerships between business and
education.

The Mission Statement is:

Foster life-long learning to improve career skills and opportunities which
enable the people of our community to compete successfully in an evolving
global economy.

Greater regional population: 70,000.
Keene and environs population: 35,000#177#

Within the population area, businesses are finding ways to get teachers in
to see their operations. Business organizations continue to contribute
people to classroom presentations. Internship and coop programs are
available for high school students. I have personally involved a fifth
grade class with using a TQ tool to define customer requirements ( I
posted the results early last Fall--early October, I believe).

Hundreds of communities around the U.S. enjoy such involvement. No doubt
their Vision and Mission statements are similar to the ones I have posted
here. I share them happily with you.

Best regards,
