As an external consultant I have used MBTI and DiSC and other behavioral
profiles as a *tool.* Quadrant-based profiles have a usefulness in helping
folks discover their strengths, identify limitations and undeveloped
areas, and to learn how to adapt to others' preferences. The profiles can
help team members to notice that not all conflicts are intentional; each
of us has different ways of going about things!

But to say that a behavioral profile is THE WAY seems like it could be
dangerous. There are many ways to discover that in diversity lies
strength; profiles are just one way. The important thing is what people do
with the learning. It is just the first step, or one of the first steps,
in beginning to become effective as a team. (I can't stand labels or
types!) But using the information as a way to explore diversity and how it
can work for your team can be helpful.

Good luck!
