I would like to add to the volunteerism discussion that to some extend the
volunteer does not get his "human efforts" measured in terms of money, a
very inhuman and manipulative tool. Again, I insist in that the work of
the volunteer generally shows some harmony between the purpose of work and
the purpose of the worker.
Full paid firefighters in the Caracas, Venezuela, F.D. tend to show great
admirations for the volunteers, because the help they provide, the
sacrifices to something dangerous for no pay, the enthusiam they bring in,
etc.
