Regarding LeAnne Grillo's request for possible presenters, I would be
interested in hearing from others about Ely Goldratt and whether he would
be an informative presenter at the STIA conference.

I attended a half-day session by Goldratt where he discussed his Theory of
Constraints discussed in his books "The Goal" and "It's Not Luck". There
seems to be a lot of commonality between his TOCs and Senge's five LO
disciplines. I got a chance to talk with him briefly after the session
and asked him if he was familiar with the theories on systems dynamics at
MIT. He indicated he met with some MIT folks last February and that he
had a real problem with some of their assumptions about being able to
quantify model relationships (hope I remembered his words correctly). I
did not get to pursue his concerns any further at the time.

Has anyone on this list had experience with Goldratt's TOCs ? Is there a
lot of commonality between his theories and those of the LO ? Would a
dialogue between him and some of the MIT leaders (Senge, Sterman, etc)
prove insightful for all and be worth the time of a session at the annual
conference ?
