I work at a community college that is going through trauma and stress
right now. How to rebuild community becomes a key question. My role(s) is
to coordinate campus retention and student services related to student
success. At the same time I serve as a CQI and org dev coach.
I am working on a Ph.D. in higher education, focusing on organizational
change at the community college. I would be interested in learning of
community colleges which have attempted to use organizational learning
principles to bring about positive change towards making the college more
responsive to the external systems. Can you "create" community in such
circumstances? Is the attempt to bring about change through learning
experienced as a hierarchal imposition?
