RE: Barry Mallis' comment on the cons of anonymity, LO2524:

Glad to see your posting on anonymity in meetings--you said with grace
what I have been thinking with untempered advocacy! The technology to me
seems to be just another defensive routine that keeps us from being able
to say what we think in meetings. It colludes with the old mentality that
we are supposedly trying to change. I think the need is to change the
context in face-to-face interactions so that people can learn to
constructively express their thoughts publically. This approach offers
the potential to support learning and benefit the organization as a whole
while the technology interface maintains the status quo.

Having gotten that off my chest, I actually was writing to ask you about
the question you pose at the end of your message. I think I got lost
between the possibility of a natural hierarchy of ideas, tools and people,
and the question about: "where does essential humanity fit into the GROWTH
picture, along with increased market share, ROI and iterative improvement
of processes?" Could you tell me more about what you're thinking here?
