Doug:

Russell Ackoff has said that three of the core behaviors of humans are
work, play and learning. Until recently, it has been deemed "appropriate"
to keep our institutions that these behaviors are expressed in, seperate.
Meaning that recreation, education or learning, and making a living should
not be expected to interact, and if they are then we feel guilty about it.
He suggests that we would be more fulfilled as organic systems if we
"allowed" ourselves to learn while we work and think of fun ways to do
it.

All of this being said to get to my point, that being that the internet
may be the bridge across these three behaviors that allows the respective
institutions to meaningfully interact. Works for me.
