ABOUT the list ON the list, said:

"I found this to be an odd statement... in effect, aren't you saying that
attempts to "learn" about creating a better list are likely to get in the
way of the discussion on the list--that applying the ideas might get in
the way of discussing them?"

In this interesting way, we have stumbled into the false dichotomy between
the content and the vehicle which was most effectively exposed by McLuhan.
Of course, by commenting on it (as Tom King did, and as I am doing here),
we take a particular pathway in our exploration, and silence is no longer
an option.
