Replying to LO1656 --

Charlie says:

"I have come around to the following thoughts on leadership in general.
Successful leadership can be viewed as a triangle, or pyramid. The sides
are defining purpose (vision), securing essential effort (teambuilding)
and the third leg is a system (or systems) of communication. The sides of
the pyramid are held together by mortar (mortar consists of positive
expectancy and enthusiasm). At the base (or inside) of the pyramid is
commitment to action. I have thought about this six ways from Sunday and
I can't think of a situation I have observed, studied or read about that
doesn't fit this paradigm

What you think ?"

This is an interesting visualization, Charlie, and could be useful to
people who use visualization in their thinking, especially when modeling.
I'm not exactly sure how I would use it, though, and I'm a little unclear
about the "mortar" as a necessary component of leadership...

Would you like to swing on a star, carry moonbeams home in a jar and be better off than you are? Or would you rather be a mule?
