May I enthusiastically recommend "PeopleWare" by Tom DeMarco and Timothy
Lister. It presents what I believe are the foundations on which a
software Learning-Org society must be built. It's not a theoretical
dance of ideas -- it's trench warfare, conducted with vigor, wit, and
good humor.
