As I've seen Goldratt's name come up a few times during the past week or
so in this forum, I thought I'd pass along some information on an upcoming
conference in Phoenix that he will be keynote speaking at.

The conference, hosted by APICS, is devoted to the subject of Constraints
Management, will be at the Phoenix Airport Hilton from April 26-28. Dr.
Goldratt will be addressing the conference the entire morning of April 26.
Other speakers of specific interest to the Learning-Org forum will be
Debra Smith, co-researcher in a study of several companies in various
states of using Constraints Management to guide their business decisions,
Dale Houle, a partner at The Goldratt Institute (who will speak about new
developments in TOC), and General Charles Roadman, who will speak about
the Air Force's use of the Thinking Processes to reengineer their Medical
Transport and MedEvac Systems. Two hands-on workshops are devoted to the
Thinking Processes. One will teach the use of Evaporating Clouds to find
win-win solutions to conflicts. The other, "Causing Effective Change,"
will teach the use of the Thinking Processes to craft a solution, gain
consensus, communicate taskings, and delegate responsibility.

Other speakers and workshops will be of interest to people who are
concerned with a systems approach to product flow, costing, and
profitability. There are two or three sessions devoted to the issue of
performance measurements.

Registration fees vary from $270 to $595, depending on whether you are a
member of APICS, a student, attending one or all days, etc. Give APICS a
call at 800-444-2742 if you are interested in registering or receiving
further information. I understand that a sellout is expected.
