Harvard Business Review 71:2 (March-April) : 111-120. An interesting,
managerial presentation.

Ancona, D. G. and D. F. Caldwell (1992) "Bridging the boundry: External
activity and performance in organizational terms." Administrative Science
Quarterly 37:4 : 634-665. (This is very "academic" and tough reading, if
you are not into academese.)
