I think there is evidnece to support Roland's assertion that mediocre
managers hire mediocre employees. Lacking any inspiration on their
part it would be difficult to expect more.

However, as is oftent he case what we perceive as mediocrity is often
the result of systemic problems for which the individual is unable to
bust through.

Wish I had time to pick out the reseach that supports Rollie's
assertions but I don't.
