DOUBLE BARREL AIR PUMP AND ACCESSORIES BY J. ROBINSON & SONS Irish, 4th quarter 19th century, signed on an ivory plaque "J. Robinson & Sons, 65 Grafton St, DUBLIN." Mahogany base, 13 1Ú4" x 10 1Ú2", with a pair of 6 1Ú8" long x 1 1Ú8" diameter lacquered brass vacuum cylinders mounted vertically in a decorative mahogany framework, with brass finials, the operating gear racks and the crank handle, 17 1Ú2" tall overall (max), and connected to the 7 1Ú8" diameter brass bell jar plate with a stopcock underneath. The accessories include a 10 1Ú2" tall waisted glass bell jar, a 10 3Ú4" tall glass bell jar with an open top, a 5" diameter glass globe for weighting gases, and a 2 5Ú8" inside diameter x 7 5Ú8" long set of brass Magdeburg hemispheres. This very attractive double barrel air pump is in very good overall condition and still draws a vacuum.
