Yesterday's entry fails to mention that I got sick last night after one slice of pizza. Evidently I was really out of it, because I also noticed that yesterday's entry fails to mention that it snowed and wiped out my plan to go to the flower show. However, today is a gorgeous spring day too nice to be indoors, so what did I do? I went to the flower show of course.

This year's theme is "artistry in the garden". My favorite things were yellow. Very yellow. I always forget over the winter and am surprised when the yellow returns to the landscape. Usually I notice it suddenly one day although it's obviously been creeping up on us for weeks. Today's yellow extravaganza at the flower show surprised me again.

And just as I was thinking how I always run into someone I know at the flower show, I heard "Am I following you or are you following me?" It was Bob from the cat shelter. We keep running into each other at the oddest places: the post office, the parking lot in Newburyport, the flower show... He was there with his daughter. They did the smart thing and came with the group on the bus from Northern Essex Community College. Me, I drove in traffic and took forever to get there, but I saw yellow.

There was a massive traffic jam on the expressway north as I drove home and I was exhausted when I got here. Plus I think I must still have a little touch of whatever made me sick yesterday (I don't think the pizza itself was to blame, but I couldn't stand the thought of eating the rest of it today.)
