After a reasonably productive day of errands, chores, bills and correspondence, and asking people to sponsor me for the Strut for the Strays tomorrow, off to Groton to spend quality time with the nieces while the brother plays cards. I don't know where the time went. One minute I was drinking coffee at Starbucks and the next minute it was time for me to leave for Groton. I know I was busy and kept telling myself I had time for just one more thing, but can I think of what all those things were? Nope. All the tiny little tasks that add up to just trying to keep pace with life pass by in a blur.

Tonight's big event was, of course, the Two of a Kind premiere - Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen of Full House fame. They play twins living with their widowed father in search of the perfect babysitter. A slightly less full house. Best line - when they learn to play poker - "when we were little full house beat everything".

Another cliff-hanger on Boy Meets World. Why are these people starting to seem real to me? Andrea is concerned that I won't find out whether Cory marries Topanga in next week's episode because I won't be watching it at their house. Of course, I'll be at the Kerouac festival so will miss it anyway but I'm sure Andrea will tell me what happens. Or I could buy a VCR by then since I'll probably buy a new tv for the playoffs.

And for those who weren't watching the TGIF bash: Sabrina chooses Harvey.

The rest of the TGIF festivities were sort of lost on me. The live appearance by N Sync did nothing for me. I had never heard of them until tonight. Hey at least I've heard of Hanson and the Spice Girls. I'm not totally out of it. I am, however, not real good at writing about television since I basically only watch it either with the kids or with Nancy. I've long had this problem that tv seems flat and un-engaging to me. Well, unless it's a riveting documentary about vets doing surgery on turtles or something. Otherwise, given the choice between watching tv and just about any other activity, including doing nothing, I'll choose the other activity. This must be some kind of pathology, but I've never heard a name for it. That said, I do seem to have developed a relationship with the characters on Full House, Boy Meets World, and Sabrina. One night last week I dreamed that the girls from Full House married the boys from Boy Meets World. Their parents disapproved and none of them got along anyway. Could be 'cause in the dream all of them moved in together. When I told Nancy this dream she pointed out that there's a big age difference between the kids on Full House and the kids on Boy Meets World. That could explain why they didn't get along. :-)

At bedtime, Andrea took me on a tour of her bedroom. Her Beanie Babies are arranged in alphabetical order. This is a clear case of my influence. Egad. I'll have her alphabetizing her spice rack when she's old enough to cook (I know, she cooks now, but Easy Bake oven is not the same thing). Her room is almost clutter-free too. She had me walk in with my eyes closed and I didn't trip over anything. Cool.

The Groton Police stopped me on 119 even though I wasn't speeding. Didn't get a ticket. Told them I was going 38 the whole time (which I was). The officer who pulled me over said the other officer in the other car said mine was the only car that had gone by there and therefore must be the one who was clocked at 58! The officer apologized for bothering me and let me go. They must have been wicked bored to be stopping an old maid aunt doodling along at 38 mph at 12:17 in the morning without probably cause. Maybe they've had a rash of reckless driving among old maid aunts out late at night. Who knows. I refrained from bursting out laughing until I was home safe in my bed.
